George Dube is a partner at BDO and a veteran tax accountant and investor whose practice focuses on providing the knowledge and tools clients need to increase and preserve the value of their businesses. Around 20 years ago he started to get more involved in working with real estate investors after getting involved in investing himself. This gives him a synergy with many of his clients and an obvious incentive to stay on top of the latest developments in tax and accounting.

He is a frequent guest speaker at a variety of meetings, events and workshops in which he addresses a range of tax and accounting topics with implications for real estate investors, with a particular focus on tax strategies. He talks about ways investors can improve communication with their accountants and better organize their financial affairs. George also updates listeners about how their businesses are impacted by rule changes in the accounting and tax industries.
George is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s Master of Accounting Program, where he completed a double specialization in Taxation and Public Accounting. He also completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants’ two-year In-Depth Taxation Course.
Also, an author, George has written and contributed to articles in various national and regional publications. He has co-authored two books: 81 Financial and Tax Tips for the Canadian Real Estate Investor: Expert Money-Saving Advice on Accounting and Tax Planning (Campbell, Murji and Dube: Wiley 2010) and Legal, Tax & Accounting Strategies for the Canadian Real Estate Investor (Cohen and Dube: Wiley 2010). He also developed the accountant in-a-box program, a cloud-based accounting and bookkeeping solution.
